Prince of Wales Bay recognised as Maritime Defence Precinct

A long term project with government has finally delivered formal recognition of Prince of Wales Bay as a strategic marine manufacturing and defence precinct. Prince of Wales Bay was the location of one of Australia’s most prolific naval ship building centres in 1943, when it delivered over 100 vessels to the war effort.

It is now home to leading defence suppliers such as Taylor Bros, CBG Systems, Fiomarine, LSA, Moonraker and Apco.
The site also supports major companies such as RDM and Incat who deliver ferries to domestic and international markets. The signs are located on the Brooker Highway approaches Derwent Park Road and on the Goodwood Road approaches to the Howard Road intersection.
