Prominent TMN member, Liferaft Systems Australia (LSA) hosted a unique event this month with international defence prime BAE Systems.
The event held on 19th February was attended by around 45 industry practitioners and was themed around BAE’s offer for SEA5000 the global combat ship Type 26 frigate. Mike Grainger welcomed guests to the always immaculate LSA headquarters and LSA staff were on hand to provide one on one tours around a very full workshop.
LSA are at their peak with orders till 2022 and are looking at expanding their facilities. BAE executive manager, Sharon Wilson, took the group through BAE digital shipyard concept with a powerful demonstration of 3D and virtual reality tools which allow multiple shipyards to operate on the same platform and enable suppliers to test out their products in a virtual hub.
